I think we can say that this is our Flagship Event and this year we extended our one night event to two. However firstly we should say that this event was the brainchild of our Chairman Paul Bedwell who planned the two days worth of routes, and acted as the interface between the group and the hotels. He, with Clare, then led the procession of initially shiny Alfa’s which by and large (with a few exceptions who we’ll not name!) managed to stay together for the two days. So well done and thank you Paul.
To give you a feel for the event we have given a little more detail than usual to explain how the event works for the consideration of those who may like to join us in future events (Yorkshire is our current plan for next March 2026. For insurance reasons we can only take members on our formal events says)
The first task on Friday was for to get to the Snowdonia National Park to group up, the meet point was IXORA Hotel & Spa in Conwy, Following an excellent meal, and restful night a group briefing took place after breakfast. The group drove 6 legs on the Saturday. Hotel to Llanberis, Llaneberis to Tafarn, Tafarn to Fron Goch, Fron Goch to Criccieth, Criccieth to Barmouth and finally Barmouth to Tyn Y Cornel. The lakeside hotel at Tyn y Cornel provided a fantastic back drop for the Alfa and a superb Italian Meal for the hungry drivers. Day two took us from Tyn Y Cornel to Blaenau Ffestiniog then
onward to Betws-Y-Coed for a final lunch together before dispersal for the trek home. An extremely sociable weekend, with stunning back drops, excellent hotels and a chance to drive our lovely Alfa’s. Well worth a try if you haven’t yet experienced it.
