Following the success of last years event there was tension in the air as South Midlands regrouped to take another trip around the Micro Scalextric track. New cars had been added to the stock, but technical issues with the track and the fact that burgers being served as the same time led to a delayed start. However with the track fixed and stomachs full, proceedings were soon underway and the competitive nature of our community came to the fore. After several close heats Clare Bedwell took first place on the podium, Martin Bonito Heikens earned a well fought second and Roger Garrini a worthy third. It was a good fun night and helped to support East Anglian Air Ambulance. To whom we were pleased to donate £100 from the collection of voluntary registration fees for the event.
